Choosing the right health facility system is very important when it comes to living a stress free healthy life. But, often we tend to get confused as to whether opt for public or private sector health care systems. Today, people are more inclined towards private health facilities.
Private health facilities are medicines and other healthcare provisions provided by organizations other than the government. Private health facility in some respect is more efficient than the public healthcare. Also, sometimes it is more productive due to the involvement of profit. Thus, people tend to opt for private health systems. In India, almost 70% of the households in urban and 63% of the households in rural area opt for private medical sector. 
The private sector here is diverse in nature. It comprises of non-profit organizations, corporate trusts, diagnostic laboratories, pharmacy shops, stand-alone specialist services, unqualified providers and pharmacy shops. The private sector is essentially focused on curative care. Also, private medical sector is more reliable as the medical equipment's used by the doctors are regularly investigated.

The private medical sector in India is gradually growing and now several NRIs, pharmaceutical companies and corporate companies are investing in building of super specialty hospitals. These hospitals will provide world class health care at a cost lesser than the Western countries. Therefore, India has lot of potential for achieving good health status in the coming years.
